Gem Randall made their breakthrough in production design in 2017 with Amazon Prime’s The Collection, a post-war Paris period drama that cemented their passion for storytelling through design.
Originally trained in fine art and graphic design, Gem has spent over 20 years working within film and television art departments. This multidisciplinary foundation informs a design approach rooted in character psychology, narrative clarity, and visual precision.
In 2023, Gem designed The Sixth Commandment, crafting a fully realised world capable of holding both intimacy and tragedy. Their 2025 project What It Feels Like for a Girl further demonstrated their fearless use of colour, subculture, and emotional design language.
